What the trip price includes
To find out exactly what is included in the price, please refer to the trip notes, available on our website or as a PDF file on request.
We strongly advise you to book your spot as soon as possible, as our trips are often sold out several months in advance. To confirm your registration for a trip, you must complete the registration form and make a $500 deposit. If you sign up less than 55 days before the departure date, you must make the full payment. We recommend that you take out cancellation insurance when you register so that you will be covered against possible cancellation costs.
Second payment and final payment
Provided that the trip is confirmed, a second payment equivalent to 50% of the price of the ground portion of the trip is due 90 days before departure. Final payment is due no later than 55 days before the trip departure date. If you fail to pay the balance 55 days before the departure date, Explorateur voyages reserves the right to cancel your registration and to apply the cancellation conditions described below.
If you cancel your reservation more than 55 days before departure, your deposit will not be refunded. You may apply the deposit to another trip, as long as the departure is within 6 months of the departure date of the trip for which you first registered. If you cancel your reservation less than 55 days before departure, you will be charged 50% of the total cost of the trip. The remaining 50% will be refunded after the international air ticket has been delivered to Explorateur voyages. In the case of customized trips for two people, you will be charged a fee of 100% of the total cost of the trip. If you are unable to travel on departure day and it is impossible to inform Explorateur voyages, you must notify the international air carrier so you do not forfeit the value of your airline ticket. If you do not notify the air carrier, an amount equivalent to the value of the lost airline ticket will be added to the penalty already in effect.
Any costs you incur to obtain visas or insurance are non-refundable if these items have already been issued, with the exception of medical insurance.
Cancellation fees will be collected by Explorateur voyages if you request a cancellation for any reason, including concerns about political unrest, terrorist acts or natural disasters, or any personal reason.
If you leave a trip early for any reason (illness, personal decision, etc.), the unfinished portion of the trip is not refundable.
All prices are in Canadian dollars and are subject to change in the event of changes in exchange rates, cost increases for services used by Explorateur voyages, or a devaluation of the Canadian dollar.
If you purchase cancellation/interruption insurance (or a more complete policy) when signing up for a trip, you will be able to get a refund for cancellation or early return costs incurred by an occurrence of force majeure (death, illness , accident, etc.). We also recommend that you get insurance for all risks for which Explorateur voyages may not be held liable (accidents, illness, material damage, loss of luggage, flight cancellation, etc.). Your advisor at Explorateur voyages will give you complete information about insurance options.
You must have a valid passport with an expiration date that allows you to complete the entire trip. Before departure, make sure that you have all the required documents and that they are valid, in particular all visas required to legally enter the country or countries you will be visiting.
You must be at the airport at least three (3) hours before the departure time of your international flight. It is your responsibility to notify Explorateur voyages of their your intentions, purposes, and reasons. You must also ensure that you are in good enough health to be able to complete the entire trip, bring with you all necessary medication, and have medical insurance that includes emergency repatriation.
In the event that a traveler’s behavior is detrimental to other travelers, and that his or her attitude does not change even after a formal warning from our representative, Explorateur voyages reserves the right to remove this traveler from the group. The traveler will have to pay all additional costs incurred by this situation, such as accommodation, food, transport, and repatriation.
